New City Slang combines a twin-guitar attack reminiscent of the MC5, Television and the Rolling Stones, with the poetic tradition of street lyricists like Jim Carroll and Lou Reed. New City Slang is not a retro or revival act.

New City Slang was founded in 2013 as a recording project by Rochester based poet and songwriter Harlow Crandall. Based on the strength of the group’s chemistry they made their live debut New Year’s at Monty’s Krown. In July of 2014, they entered More Sound Studios in Syracuse, New York. Emerging with 7 tracks New City Slang returned to Rochester to complete the EP with a local engineer. The band returned to More Sound in 2016 recording 5 additional songs. With repairs completed to their first sessions, the end result is their 12 track debut.
